Alleviation of Poverty

God speaks out, cares for, and protects those whose life, labor, and dignity are abused. And God continuously calls for the right treatment of the widow, immigrants, and orphans. You might see Harvester Christians unleashing hope to alleviate the effect of poverty by serving with the Emergency Weather Response Team to host an overnight warming center for our unhoused neighbors here on campus during harsh winter nights or at Faith Haven House. You might see a crew serving at The Sharing Shed to help our neighbors rebuild their lives and homes with basic household goods. Our prayer is that God would bless us with compassionate and generous hearts toward children and families in need. We pray out of the abundance God has blessed us that we will easily and regularly share with our neighbors who have much less.

Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV) “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
