HCC Local Outreach

Where can I serve?

Mission

“Leading people to find and follow Jesus” is why we exist as a church. Our heart is to intentionally lead family and friends, coworkers, and neighbors to find Jesus, and then to follow Jesus step by step, each and every day.

Vision

We accomplish our mission by leading the world to Encounter Jesus, Become Like Jesus, and Unleash the Hope of Jesus back into a lost and wounded world.

Values

We are GENEROUS

2 Corinthians 9:11

We are generous with our time, talents, and treasures for the benefit of others, just as God has been generous toward each of us.

We are JUST

Genesis 1:27; Proverbs 14:31

We believe all people are made in God’s image and are to be treated with dignity and equity. We care for and protect those who are not.

UNLEASH THE HOPE OF JESUS

Where Satan unleashes hell, we unleash hope! This is a church that generously serves, gives, and goes. Our desire is to care for lost and wounded people – locally and globally – by unleashing all the blessings that Jesus has already unleashed on us back into the world. Our strategy is to unleash the hope of Jesus through justice, generosity, and neighboring.

We ask questions like:

  1. Where can we demonstrate God’s justice by responding to people’s needs and affirming the dignity of every person made in God’s image?
  2. Where is God inviting us to show up, build relationships, and love our neighbors well?
  3. Where can our generosity, service, and witness help people experience and understand the hope of Jesus?

We primarily serve in three areas: Meeting Needs, Building Community, and Sharing Hope. Read through these options and pray where God is leading you — and if you’re still looking for ways to serve, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

meet the needs

Where can we demonstrate God’s justice by responding to people’s needs and affirming the dignity of every person made in God’s image?

We believe it is important to meet our neighbors’ needs where we can because we believe every person bears God’s image. Harvester Christian Church strives to meet our neighbors’ basic needs. This often looks like addressing hunger, poverty, homelessness, crisis, and vulnerability. We also partner with local organizations to provide essential resources — food, clothing, and household goods — meeting immediate needs while empowering individuals toward long-term stability.

Emergency Weather Response (EWR) Team

building community

Where is God inviting us to show up, build relationships, and love our neighbors well?

Often, loving God and loving our neighbors looks like Harvester Christian Church investing in local schools, families, and neighborhoods in order to build trustworthy relationships. Schools provide a natural place to build long-term relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators, demonstrating the love of Jesus through the ministry of presence and service.

Family Friends

Encourage and strengthen Safe Families host, foster, and adoptive families — praying, dropping off diapers, providing meals, babysitting, or offering rides to appointments.

share hope

Where can our generosity, service, and witness help people experience and understand the hope of Jesus?

At Harvester Christian Church, we understand the assignment to lead people to find and follow Jesus. We are not a humanitarian group. We are called to be the Church and to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” With our service, we can unleash the hope of Jesus through generous service, spiritual connection, restoration, and the Gospel. We intentionally partner with ministry partners that advance the work of ministry.

Elections

HCC hosts two polling places. Volunteers greet, open doors, aid neighbors with limited mobility, and offer simple snacks on Election Days, 2–3 times a year.

Good Neighbor Serve Group

Simple repairs for elderly or single-parent homes — leaf removal, yard care, snow removal, deck and drywall repair, and basic home maintenance, as needed and as skills allow.

National Disaster Response Team

HCC members ready to use their gifts in the event of a natural disaster in St Charles County — with ongoing training like Psychological First Aid, chainsaw certification, and CPR/First Aid.

Administrative Ministry Volunteers

Keep Local Outreach running smoothly — database entry, sorting and organizing supplies, event preparation, copying and printing at the HCC offices and Outreach Workroom.

Communications Crew

Help every Harvester Christian know where, how, and why to serve — short blog articles, volunteer stories, and sharing HCC Local Outreach content. Primarily remote.

Community & Ministry Partners

Harvester financially supports many local partners — read through them and pray how God might be calling you to serve these organizations.
